Rocks and Minerals: Study Sediment Metamorphosis and Luster

Three activities to add to your rock and minerals unit. First, study different samples of sand and clay to see the variety in grain size, shape, and luster. Next, model the process of metamorphosis in rocks to see why most fossils don't survive the process. Lastly, compare rocks before and after metamorphosis to see the types of changes that take place when rocks are heated and pressed.
